Traditional Sioux Pottery is made from the red clay of the Black Hills (Paha Sapa),
to the Lakota people, and a fine white clay from Kentucky. Each piece is
designed, handcrafted, and decorated with designs and symbols important to their
signed by the artist who created it.
Sioux artists are encouraged to use freedom of expression and the full scope of their
talents in decorating the elaborate pottery. The resulting pieces are Sioux Pottery masterpieces with finely detailed etchings, colorful painting and silhouetted scenes.
